When Mr. Hanson's surveyor revisited the property to more precisely locate the power <br />line he also located Mr. Eiden' s cabin. It is shown on Exhibit G. The location matches a 1994 survey <br />of Mr. Eiden's property. There is approximately 12 feet of clearance between the westerly edge of the <br />right of way and the deck of the cabin. <br />The lot area variance was applied for in 1986 by Mr. Hanson's father. For some reason it (and several <br />others on Big Island) was never processed. <br />Planning Commission Recommendation <br />On November 16, 2009, Planning Commission voted 5 to Oto recommend approval of both requests. <br />Planning Staff Recommendation <br />A. Approval of the street vacation per the attached resolution. <br />B. Approval of the lot width variance per the attached resolution. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Adopt or amend the attached Resolutions.
