She i:' in kinreegarten in the Ore of DiS- �ct. <br />I took s day of vacation fro■ work to watch her get <br />but ;nd share her exciter.ent. From the smile on her face I know it <br />was a day well spent. <br />That first bus ride, which was such a joy to her, besame a shook <br />to me. I Ime rned that there are no seatbelts on the bus. Think about <br />that fir a moment. <br />We have laws that require seat belts and the use of then in our <br />own vehicles wits orr own families. Yrt; our children are bussed to and <br />from schoolsby toi-al strangers whose driving ability we know nothing <br />abouttand they do not even have the option of buckling up. <br />Think abou'; the safety requirements we impose for sports and <br />all other activity. I think school busses have been overlooked. <br />Do we need a cragedy before we respond. How di3 you feel waen <br />the Astronauto perished last winter?
