Gerhardson, Public Works Coordinator <br />Dates August 4, 1986 <br />Subject: Baldur Park Road Shoreline Erosions <br />On June 23, 1986, Mrs. Ginny Keesling requested assistance <br />from the City for rip rapping along the shoreline of 1384 Baldur <br />Park Road. <br />Mrs. Keesling stated that the shoreline has been eroding <br />drastically in the last six years and it is her feeling that at <br />least three feet of shoreline has eroded away. <br />The area that has eroded is part of the road right-of-way <br />that the Keeslings and two other residents use as a private road <br />to their prop=rty. The City does not maintain any part of the <br />road right-of-way at Keesling's property. However, it should be <br />noted that there is a sanitary sewer main line in the roadway and <br />that at one point the sanitary sewer line is within 13 feet of <br />the shoreline. <br />After review of this matter, it is r..ff recommendation not <br />to participate in the funding of the rip •tpping, however, if the <br />Council feels some responsibility and wishes to participate, it <br />is staff recommendation to designate this as a public improvement <br />project and assess the costs to the benefitting property owners. <br />To: Mary Butler a Orono Council Members <br />From: Mark E.
