' � • _�. <br /> .. � <br /> y: + <br /> - d c�t� o� oR,oNo <br /> � <br /> � RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL . <br /> � NO. 1412 <br /> • • <br /> � � � DESCRIBING FUTURE STREET <br /> LOCATION PLANS IN THE <br /> NAVARRE AREA <br /> WHEREAS, the City _of Orono is a municipal corporation organized <br /> and existing under the' laws of the State of Minnesota; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 462, the City <br /> of Orono has adopted a Comprehensive Community Management P1an and <br /> subdivision regulations for the orderly, economic and safe development <br /> of land within the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, City ordinances and planning policy require dedication <br /> of street rights-of-way and construction of streets and utilities as a <br /> part of every subdivision application wherever such new services are <br /> made necessary by such land subdivision or development; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is within the scope and intent of comprehensive <br /> planning to look beyond the immediate property undergoing development <br /> • to coordinate a rational and economic system of public improvements <br /> for an entire area; and . <br /> WHEREAS, even though it is necessary to p�lan a system of public <br /> improvements on a broad basis, it is not always desireable to accurately <br /> locate or physically design said improvements until such time as an <br /> actual plan for development is submitted for the affected property; and <br /> WHEREAS, extensive traffic studies were undertaken as a part <br /> of the recent review of Schlee Buildez 's, Inc. subdivision applications <br /> #585 and #671, from which the City Council has identified a need to plan <br /> for future public streets and utilities to serve both the Schlee property <br /> and the adjacent tracts of land west of the Schlee property. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City <br /> of Orono hereby makes the following findings of fact and intent as regards <br /> the overall planning of future streets and utilities within the Schlee <br /> � subdivision, and on the properties adjacent thereto: <br /> 1) The area of the City involved in this plan is all that <br /> land south of Northern Avenue and the Burlington Northern <br /> Railroad, west of Blaine Avenue, north of Shoreline Drive <br /> (County Road 15) , and east of� the east line of the <br /> Hennepin County Shops (east of the SW% of the SW4 of <br /> Section 17) . <br /> �Y <br /> Page 1 of 8 <br />
