City of ORC' NO <br />RESGLUTION OF THE CITY COUi;_ <br />NO. <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING <br />APRIh 20 THROUGH APRIL 27, 1986 <br />AS NATIONAL. VOLUNTEER WEEK <br />IN THE CITY OF ORONO <br />WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota, by proclamation of <br />Governor Rudy Perpich, has daclared April 20 through April 27, <br />1986 National Volunteer Week; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono during its entire history <br />has to a large degree depended on the volunteer efforts of its <br />citizens to make it a quality community; and <br />WHEREAS, members of its various Commissions, such as <br />the Planning Commission, Park Commission, and Human Relations <br />Commission, have spent endless hours and considerable devotion <br />to the City in order to make and keep Orono a quality community; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City and its contract cities are :opendent <br />co a great degree on its Police Reserve Force to provide needed <br />personnel for demand times together with taking on special <br />projects that would not otherwise be able to be accomplished in <br />the community; and <br />WHEREAS, provision of its fire service is dependent to <br />a large degree on the volunteer and part paid efforts of the four <br />departments with whoin it contracts. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE <br />IT RESOLVED that <br />the City Council <br />of <br />the City of Orono declare <br />April 20 `through <br />April 27, 1986 <br />as <br />National Volunteer Recognition <br />Week in Orono <br />and -additional thit <br />copy of this Resolution be <br />sent to all of its Commissioners <br />and <br />Police Reserve people aE <br />a small token <br />of expressing <br />its <br />appreciation for their hard <br />work, dedication. <br />and expressing <br />our <br />thanks for a job we 1 1 done. <br />Adopted by the Orono City Council on this 14th day of <br />April , 1986. <br />ATTEST: <br />Dorothy M.
