John Barbour <br />DATE: December 18, 1986 <br />The f,-'.lowing is a memorandum of a meeting held December 17, 1986, to present the <br />Master Pla- to the City of Orono. Present for the City of Orono were Mark <br />Bernhardtson, City Administrator and Jeanne Mabusth, ,fining Administrator; present <br />for the Owner were Joe Backes and Larry Sharp; present for Setter, Leach & Lindstrom <br />was John Barbour. <br />1. The presentation was made by Larry Sharp and John Barbour with Larry providing <br />background information and summary of the 1979 Facilities Survey by the State of <br />Minnesota Department of Administration while John summarized both the Planning <br />and Site Evaluation Study as well as the new Redevelopment Master Plan. <br />2. The Redevelopment Master Plan will be presented to the City Council as applica- <br />tion for a conditional use permit later this winter. The following was requested: <br />a. The phases in the Master Plan should be tied together with projected funding <br />and a projected time table established. <br />b. A list c buildings to be rehabilitated on an interim basis with a <br />descripti,n of corrective measures to be taken. This should respond to <br />letters from Tom Jacobs, Orono Building Inspector, condemning ea o the <br />buildings with an itemization of code violations. <br />3. An extension of the present temporary conditional use permit will be reauested <br />at the January 12 council meeting to allow the Army Corp. of Engineers to have a <br />winter camping exercise on the island while they demolish several existing <br />buildings and haul out debris and felled trees. <br />4. Two copies of the Master Plan were provided to the 'City of Orono and thirteen <br />copies to the Owner.
