City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 2459 <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING <br />A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br />PER MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.31, SUBDIVISION 3 (C) <br />FILE i1277 <br />NBEREAS, Edward S. Morrow, Chairman of the Board of Governors, <br />Big Island Veterans Camp, (hereinafter "the applicant") has an interest in <br />the property located on Big Island per Orono classification Record Lot 1 <br />within the City of Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally described as <br />follows: <br />Government Lot One (1), Sete' ion Fourteen (14), T.;wnship One Hundred <br />Seventeen (117), Range Twenty -Three (23); and Government Lot Two (2), <br />Section Twenty -Three (23), and that part of Government Lot Three (3), <br />Section Twenty-three (23), commencing at the Northeast corner of said <br />Government Lot Three (3), Section Twenty -Three (23); thence <br />Southwesterly along the lake shore to the Northeast corner of Lot A, <br />Morse Island Park; Thence South 350 feet to Lake Minnetonka; Thence <br />East along the shore of Lake Minnetonka to the East line of said Lot <br />Three (2); thence North to the place of beginning (hereinafter "the <br />property"); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant has applied to the City of Orono for a <br />Conditional '_Tse Permit to allow a Day Use Recreation area for the property <br />at a maximum 240 user level per day per Municipal Zoning Code Section <br />10.31, Subdivision 3 (C). <br />Minnesota: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE If�RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1277. <br />2. The property is located in the RS, Seasonal Recreatijnal Zoning <br />District, requiring a minimum of 5 acres in area. The Fropert; <br />consists of approximately 57 acres in area. <br />3. On June 6, 1988, the Orono Planning Commission reviewed the <br />application as proposed and recommended approval, based on the <br />following findings: <br />A) The 57+ acres site is large enough to sv;port the day use <br />recreation area without any adverse effect upon the lake or upon <br />the adjacent wetlands that are located within the suLject <br />property. <br />Pave 1 of 6 <br />
