Mabusth, <br />We feel the following standards would be appropriate and fair to use in <br />governing user density and toilet facilities for picnicing 8 camping at Big <br />Island: <br />Picnic 8 camping density: <br />1. Orono R.S. Zoning, District: <br />Picnicing/day recreation: Subdivision 3, paragrah C- 20 users per <br />acre x 57 acres 1140. <br />Camping: Subdivision 3, paragraph D = 2 camping spots per acre: x 57 <br />acreq = 114 camping spots. <br />2. At this time we're only applying for 150 picnicers with only 60 of them <br />camping overnight ( 15 campsite). <br />3. Suburban Hennepin Regional Park District guidelines revised January <br />1988 are: copy attached, for more Information call Alex Mdyer 559- <br />67581: <br />Plenlc or day use: 10 groups or families per acre. 4 persons per group <br />= 40 people per acre. <br />Overnight camping: 6 campsites per acre, 4 persons per campsite - 24 <br />people per acre. <br />B. Toilets for picnicers: <br />The Standard used by Suburban Hennepin Parks Is from the Federal Hureau of <br />Outdoor Recreation, National Park Service, ( I'll get you a copy) <br />200 people = 100 women 100 men <br />tollets 3 1 <br />urinals 2 <br />lavatories 1 1 <br />C.
