The plans show construction of <br />a retaining wall and addition to the existing home. We have the following comments with regards to <br />engineering matters: <br />• The entire existing home is located within the 0-75' setback area. The grading along the sides of <br />the existing home will improve drainage by channeling overland runoff away from the house. <br />Locating the retaining wall within the 0-75' setback is necessary to maintain proper drainage away <br />from the proposed addition. <br />• The grading west of the proposed addition should be performed to direct water around the home. <br />• The plans show the removal of approximately two feet of soil above the existing septic sewer lines. <br />The applicant should verify that adequate cover is maintained to prevent freezing or insulate the <br />pipe. <br />If you have any questions, please call me at (651) 604-4894. <br />Yours very truly, <br />Bonestroo <br />Darren Amundsen <br />cc: Tom Kellogg
