MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 24, 1986 <br />#842 ZIMMERMAN continued <br />It was moved by Acting Mayor Adams, seconded by <br />Councilmember Grabek, to adopt Resolution #1932 <br />approving the variance subject to staff's <br />recommendation. Motion, Ayes 3, Nays 0. <br />RED INC. <br />1390 FRENCH CREEK DRIVE <br />CONDITIONAL, USE PERMIT <br />RESOLUTION #1933 <br />Assistant Zoning Administrator Gaffron noted that Ned <br />Dayton was unable to be present at this meeting. <br />MAYOR'S REPORT: <br />WOLSFELD WOODS <br />City Administrator Bernhardson explained the request for <br />a conditional use permit to regrade a designated wetland <br />into an appropriate wildlife pond. He noted that <br />the engineer has reviewed it and staff recommends <br />approval subject to recommendations per drafted <br />resolution. <br />Councilmember Frahm recommended incorporating the <br />following finding in the resolution: The pond is located <br />high in the watershed and run-off must travel nearly a <br />mile before reaching Lake Minnetonka. <br />It was moved by Acting Mayor Adams, seconded by <br />Councilmember Frahm, to adopt Resolution #1933 approving <br />the Conditional Use Permit amending it to incorporate <br />the previous stated Finding. Motion, Ayes 3, Nays 0. <br />Acting Mayor Adams noted that there has been a problem <br />over the years of vandalism, parties, and various <br />nuisances in the 200 acre area and taany of the problems <br />have been a] leviated because of a caretaker living on <br />the premises. He stated that he recommends the Council <br />pass a resolution supporting the need of a caretaker <br />living on the premises which would be in the City's and <br />neighbors best interest. <br />Ccunci lmember Grabek stated t'; ne does not f E-e 1 the <br />City should get ; nvol ved in a p rate matter with the <br />DNR and based upon no documentation from the DMR <br />regarding this matter. <br />Councilmember Frahm stated that he tends to favor haling <br />a caretaker on tho property, but woL!ld like to hear <br />DNR's position in this matter. <br />City Administrator Bernhardson stated thatt staff will <br />research and report back to the Council at the March <br />loth Council meeting. <br />I <br />
