City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />• NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF COUNCIL GRANTING THE <br />ADMINISTRATOR SELECT APPOINTMENT AUTHORITY <br />WHEREAS, t:.a City Council of the City of Orono deems it <br />appropriate to grant certain authorities to the Administrator to <br />insure the appropriate and timely operation of the organization, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Section 2.86 provides for certain powers to the <br />.Administrator as does Resolution #1899, and <br />WHEREAS, Mark Bernhardson was appointed as City <br />Administrator effective 1 May 1985. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council grant to <br />Mark Bernhardson the following appointing authority: <br />a.) The authority t nterview and recommend persons for <br />appointment to posi�.ons of employment with the City at <br />a regular Council meeting. <br />b.) The autnority to appoint a temporary � -son prior to <br />the regular meeting of the Council when the person is to <br />meet an emergency need or to prevent a significant loss <br />of work to the City. <br />C.) The authority to extend or terminate a probationary <br />period of employment of a probationary employee, subject <br />to revision or modification at the next regular Council <br />meeting. <br />FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED, that the authority hereby <br />granted to Mark Bernhardson can be revoked by a three vote <br />majority of the Council or upon resignation of Mark Bernhardson <br />as City Administrator. <br />Adopted oy the City Council of the City of Orono, <br />Minnesota at a regular meeting held February 18, 1986. <br />Tim Adams, Acting Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />
