Significant changes in additica to <br />"neutralizing" the gender language are as follows: <br />- That a suspension imposed on an emp ogee by the <br />Administrator is subject to Council action at the next <br />meeting. If the Council fails to modify or rescind it <br />is ratified. Under the present ordinance it must be <br />affirmatively acted on by the Council. <br />- Under the right of administrative appeal it exempts <br />employ from using this appeal route and directs them <br />into the appropriate grievance routes setforth in the <br />Administrative and Personnel Policy for items that are <br />related to their employment. <br />- Provides for the position of Acting Administrator. <br />The full text of the sections are listed but the attached summary <br />is what we request for publication. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by A, seconded by C_, that the Council <br />adopt the changes proposed by staff to Ordinance 2.r6, 2.07, 2.11 <br />and that the Council approve the summary for publication. Ayes <br />5, Nays o . <br />SPECIAL, T,VENTS AND PARADES <br />%s you will recall at the November 12, 1985 Col:nci' meeting staff <br />presented an ordinance amendmen•. to the Parades and Special <br />Events Ordinances Number 5.25 ind 6.08. The major thrust of <br />which included under the definition of special events any events <br />in residential :.;treets generating 20 or more vehicles parking <br />off -site or onrs required of posting of No Pa.king to maintain <br />compliance. The concern of thi) Council at the time was private <br />parties at residential home, that were not oi. a frequent nature. <br />We have been studying the issue and would propose that an <br />exception hp made to the definition of special event for privatc <br />l <br />
