Minnesota 55364 <br />SPECIAL LEVY REFERENDUM ELECTION MEETING <br />Tuesday, November 26, 1985 <br />Olinutes to he approved December 9. 1985) <br />A'iTEN DANCE/ The Special meeting f the School Board was called to order at <br />LOCATION 10:19 p.m. in the Lecture ]fall of the Westonka Community Center <br />by William Goblirsch. Chairman. In attendance were: School <br />Board members Goblirsch. Mayer, Schmidt. Chelberg. Pitsc_h and <br />Hallowell. Other members were Superintendent Stevenson, <br />Assistant Superintendents Brandenburg and ':Myers. Principals. <br />teachers, support staff, students. parents. ommunity members <br />and district P.R. Coordinator. <br />CANVASS OF Chairman Goblirsch ,announced the arrival of th4 election judges <br />VOTES and called for agenda item #1. Canvass of Special tAection Returns <br />of Tuesday, November °6. 1985. The head election judge presented <br />,he results to the chairman. <br />Chelberg moved, and Hallowell seconded that the Board approve <br />the adoption of the 3 mill levy as approved by a vote of 2.032 <br />YES and 1.558 NO, with . Spoiled; Blank ballots as listed in agenda <br />item $10. On roll call vote, all six members voted AYE. The <br />au'� ,nce applauded the passing of the referendum. <br />1985 LEVY Cntrberg moved arts. fitsch seconded the motion to approve the <br />AUTHORIZATION 1985 Levy Authoriz»t•.:r: as stated in agenda item 02• for a total <br />�8,489,566.97. On roi, call vote. all six members vote AYE. <br />OPEN DISCUSSION :Wave; noted that there were some 1500 people in our community <br />who -oted NO. F? thought they are possible disappointed with <br />the i+oard. Mayer said he intends to represent those NO voters <br />in W future. <br />tlall.• veil thanked all those reople who helped pass this referendum <br />for !,* kids.
