" pI <br />Pam: Tom Kuehn, Finance D ector <br />DATEr December 18, 1985 <br />SUBJECT: Request for Refund of Payment on Certified Utility <br />Account <br />In October the City certified to the County delinquent utility <br />account 41-547-1421-72 in the amount of $130.12 to be collected <br />with the 1986 taxes. The property, located at 14[1 North Arm <br />Drive, is rental property, The deadline for prepayments of 1986 <br />assessments was November 15, 1985. On November 25, 1985, a <br />payment of $30.00 was received and deposited. It was later <br />determined this was a Sate payment of a certified account. The <br />payment should have been sent to the owner not the City, because <br />the renter who owned the bill had moved. The owner has requested <br />that we refund the partial payment because we cannot reduce the <br />assesiment the owner will now have to pay. <br />It is requested that $30.00 be refunded to the owner to avoid <br />double collection of the amount.
