TO: Mark Bernhardson, City Administrator <br />FROM: Tom Kuehn, Finance Director(_ <br />DATE: December 5, 1985 <br />SUBJECT: Revised Cost of Initiat-iny PI)5: System and Upgrading <br />Computer Communications <br />The 1986 approved budget provided funding for installing the <br />LOGIS POSSE system for the police department, to also include <br />upgrading the communications system from the City Hall to LOGIS. <br />The amounts the LOGIS staff quoted for the equipment were. <br />,determined to be in error due to a misunderstanding regarding the <br />type of telephone circuit which can be installed between t' <br />police department id City Hall. The recently received correcteu <br />figures reflect an increase for the change in equipment nP-ded of <br />$644. The amount required for the equipment and install ion is <br />$12,1345 compared to the original amount of $12,291, an ncrease <br />of 5. 3'3. <br />Due to the increase in communications speed, and the decrease in <br />frustration which the dedicated phone line wi11 accomplish, I <br />feel the additional cr,;t is a reasonable investment. <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: hark Bernhardson, City Administrator <br />Forwarded recommending approval as being within available monies <br />for 1986. <br />PROPOSED MOTION - Moved by , sc_cu- .ed by _, that the Orono <br />City Council approve the expenditure of $12,845, a $644 increase <br />over the amount budgeted in 1986 for computer communications <br />equipment.
