BernhardsoV3 <br />DATE: December 6, 1985 <br />SUBJECT: Health Insurance <br />Attached are Staff's recommendations for r,on union ina>>rance for <br />1986 as summarized below. <br />R <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />A The following are recommended as being within budgeted <br />assistants for 1986. <br />Family Coverage - $146.00/month <br />Single Coverage Total for Health, Life and 50% of <br />supplemental life. <br />B. For 1996 retirees -that they be allowed to continue on the <br />county's hca th plan in exchange for foregoing the requisite <br />amount of se,.arance pay to fund the contribution through <br />retirement or until this is exhausted at which time they can <br />continue on a reimbursemer basis. Should they cease <br />participation in future years th-j wi I be given a pror.ata amount <br />of the "unused" severance in a lump sum. Retirees will be <br />required to sign a statement acknowledging the City's right to <br />later on withdraw its offer anytime in the future. In <br />consideration of payment of the unused retired severance balance <br />to the retiree. <br />C. For permanently disabled employees they will be allowed to <br />continue on the county program at. their expense subject to the <br />City's right to withdraw this at anytime In the future. <br />
