Mabusth, Zoninq Administrator I <br />k010 <br />Date: November 21, 1985 <br />Subject: a) #980 Richard Keavery, 3423 Shoreline Drive <br />b) #982 John Lambin, 3405 Shoreline Drive <br />Staff met with both applicants and County 11r.3hway Department <br />representative on November. 21, 1985 to resolve and discuss the <br />following issues: <br />1. request for additional right-of-way <br />2. parking needs on Keaveny site <br />3. traffic flow on restaurant lot <br />4. Keaveny leasing structure to Lambin and not proceeding <br />with subdivision_ <br />Keavery <br />will not <br />make any definite <br />decision concerning the <br />right-of-way <br />until. he <br />reviews the City <br />Attorney's opinion with <br />his attorney <br />on the issue of leasing the <br />subject structure. City <br />staf f wi 11 see that he <br />is in receipt of that okjnior. on Monday of <br />next week. <br />Kathleen <br />Blatz, City Attorney, <br />will present her <br />opinion on the <br />leasing <br />issue at I;,, mec. <br />ing on November 25th. <br />Lambin cannot agree to the request to change traffic flow <br />because of the loss of 4 parking st -i1 l s. Davf. Zetterstrohm, of <br />the County, will not approve an uncontrolled :,ccess on Shoreline <br />Drive because of the 15,000 cars that travel the County Road i- <br />relatior to Kelly Avenue with at most a 500 r,-ir use level. He <br />also advised that the intersection at Kell} wi..l be widened to <br />allow a weaving lane for those wishing to travel east on <br />Shoreline. <br />Staff a!so reviewed the possii.)i lity of controlled accesses <br />to the Keaveny and Overson sites which would allow diagonal <br />parking on both sides of lot but Keaveny was not certain if <br />Overson would agree. Staff plans to meet with Keaveny and Cook <br />out on the site to dete�mi.ne total parking capacity of Keaveny <br />property. <br />Staff has not ring f ina 1 to bring back to Council for action <br />at your November 25th meet.inq and request that you table action <br />on both applications, #980 & #982, until right-of-way, traffic <br />flow and parking issues are resolved and staff is able to present <br />a comprehensive recommendation. <br />
