TO: City Council <br />FROM: Tom Kuehn, Finance Director <br />DATE: March 14, 1985 <br />SUBJECT: Impacr, of Proposed Salary Adjustments to 1985 Budget and <br />Review of Annual Salary Adjustments 1977-1985 <br />At the February 25, 1985, Council meeting staff presented a <br />salary and benefit review proposal for non -bargaining unit <br />employees. At that time Council requested additional information <br />regarding tl impact of the proposal on the current year <br />operations ano for a review of the annual salary adjustments for <br />the past 5-10 years. Included in this memo is a tabulation <br />reflecting the proposal's impact by fund and a comparison of non- <br />union to union annual wage adjustments for the years 1977 to <br />1985. <br />Impact of Proposed Salary Adjustments to 1985 Budget: <br />Fund Budget Increase $ Increase <br />C,neral $1,922,043 $29,354 1.53% <br />Liquor Operating 126,140 3,935 3.12 <br />Water Operating 132,794 2,414 1.82 <br />Sewer Operating 288,705 3,315 1.15 <br />Golf Course Op 97,200 1,937 1.99 <br />Totals $2,566,882 $40,955 1.60% <br />The impact to the General Fund is minimal in as much as the <br />undesignated unreserved fund balance at 12/31/84 is estimated to <br />be about $1,950,000. The impact to the operating funds will also <br />be small, but will result in reducing net income from operations. <br />
