City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORISIF-.a EXECUTION OF <br />LETTER OF INTENT AND JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />WITH HENNEPIN COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono is a dily constitued <br />municipality under Chapter 412 Minnesota Statutes with its own <br />police department; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hennepin is a duly constitued <br />county under Chapter 873 and provides law enfGrcc:.nent services in <br />accordance with Minnesota Statutes; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono has need a temporary basis <br />for one patrol officer not to exceed four (a, months starting 1, <br />September 1985; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hennepin is able to supply such a <br />qualified officer under a joint powers arrangement as provided <br />for in Minnesota Statute 436.05 under the conditions outlined in <br />attachment of the letter of intent dated August 22, 1985; and <br />WHEREAS, the letter of intent provides the basis for <br />initiating such services. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of <br />the City of Orono that it desires such services under the terms <br />outlined in the letter of intent dated August 22, 1985, and <br />hereby resolves to enter into the needed joint powers agreement <br />under these terms and, <br />FURTHER RESOLVED, that its Administrator and Police <br />Chief may jointly execute the appropriate letter of intent and <br />joint powers agreement in line with the conditions of the letter <br />of intent. <br />Adopted by the Orono City Counci 1 on this 26th day of <br />Au(lust, 1985. <br />Mary C.
