Bernhardson, City Administrator <br />Date: August 21, 1985 CITY OF ORONO <br />Subject: Coded Adoption by Ordinance <br />In the past, Orono has on annual basis, by resolution, adopted its <br />building code and since this building code incorporated such codes such as <br />the plumbing and heating codes Orono did not have to adopt these <br />separately. In researching another matter however, it was discovered that <br />the current building code which was amended in 1985, no longer adopts these <br />codes by reference and the City now has to so adopt in order to be able to <br />enforce them on a local basis by ordinance. <br />RSCOMMSNDATION <br />It is recommended that the Council adopt by ordinance the following <br />list of codes in order to be on appropriate legal ground for enforcement: <br />Minnesota Plumbing Code - rhapter 4715 <br />Minnesota Heating, Ventil:.,.~g, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration <br />Rules - Chapter 1345 <br />1984 National Electrical Code <br />1983 Model Energy Code as Amended <br />Staff will draft an ordinance for formal approval at your meeting of <br />the 26th.
