In addition, any or all of the following methods <br />should be employed to reach the Task Force goal of 700 total <br />car -trailer public parking spaces for the lake: Increase on -site <br />parking by land acquisition where land availability and funding <br />permits; increase reliable parking by acquisition of or through <br />written parking agreements for off-street parking lots in the <br />vicinity; increase long-term reliable on -street parking in the <br />vicinity through written parking agreements. <br />1, 2 Recommendation: If long-term written parking agreements for <br />existing sites within these zones cannot be secured, then <br />additional access for small boats with associated parking should he <br />considered to meet reliable parking goals for the zones. <br />1 Recommendation --Shore Facilities: Noerenberg Bridge - Improve <br />landscaping. Benches, trash containers, and toilets should he <br />provided. <br />2 Recommendation --Shore Facilities: Molly's Corner/Browns Bay - <br />Secure parking and construct a fishing pier on Brown's Br-. <br />Benches, trash containers, and toilets should be provided. <br />3 Recommendation: Additional fishing craft and small recreation boat <br />access should be sought. <br />1, 3 Recommendatior: Acquisition of Deering Island and the Big Island <br />Veterans Camp for park purposes. The State should obtain full and <br />clear title to th_e Camp and the HCFRi1 should develop and manage the <br />site in conjunction with the Arthur Allen Wildlife Sanctuary as a <br />regional park. <br />*To address the distribution of accesses for fishing craft and small recrea- <br />tion boats, the Task Force arrived at a system wherebv the lake was divided <br />into five major zone,.
