City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. <br />Dui_ ° i935 <br />A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING SIGNATURES <br />FOR THE MINNESOTA BOARD OF PEACE OFFICER <br />STANDARDS AND TRAINING DISBURSEMENT MONEY <br />WHEREAS, on January 1, 1982, the State of Minnesota <br />began collecting money for a ten percent surcharge on all moving <br />traffic offenses; and <br />WHEREAS, from this penalty assessment money, the POST <br />Board has been appropriated $900,000 to be used as a <br />reimbursement to loco units of government to offset the cost of <br />providing continuing e.jcation to police officers and constables; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, two persons are required to sign the <br />application fooms on behalf of the local units of government; and <br />WHEREAS, the requirement for signatures are to be the <br />chief law enforcement officer of the agency and another officer <br />of the governing body; and <br />WHEREAS, Mark Bernhardson became the new Orono City <br />Administrator on May 01, 1985, replacing Walter R. Benson. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Chief of Police <br />Melvin H. Rilbo and Mark Bernhardson, Orono City Administrator, <br />be authorized to sign the application forms for the reimbursement <br />money provided by the POST Board. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono <br />Minnesota at a regular meeting held July 22, 1985. <br />Mary C.
