City of ORONO ) <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. <br />A RESOLUTION ORDERING ABATEMENT OF <br />HAZARDOUS BUILDING ACTION AT BIG ISLAND <br />VETERAN'S CAMP - RESTROO14 BUILDING HILL, AREA <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono is a municipal corporation <br />organized and existing under the laws of the State of :Minnesota; and <br />WHEREAS, State of Minnesota, Centenial Building, St. Paul, <br />Minnesota 55102, is the fee owner of record of property located at Big <br />Island Veteran's Camp, Orono, Minnesota, herein referred to as Big <br />Island Veteran's Camp, and legally described as follows: <br />Lot 2 Unplatted 23-117-23 21 0001 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orono, having duly <br />considered the matter pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Sections 4f " 15 <br />to 463.261, hereby finds that the above described Restroom BuilaLny <br />Hill area is unhabitable and contains insanitary and hazardous <br />conditions which constitute a public nuisance and which makes this <br />property hazardous to the public health, safety and welfare based on <br />the following findings: <br />1. <br />Electrical wiiing is in <br />a sta-,e of disrepair and is a <br />potential fire hazard. <br />2. <br />Floors and wall surface <br />does not <br />have ncn-absorbant. <br />material. <br />3. <br />Foundation is poor, pier <br />footings, <br />and no !%rotor between <br />concrete blocks. <br />4. <br />Exterior walls has paint peeling <br />ane rotten spots at <br />bottom of wall. <br />5. <br />Roof possibly leaks and <br />contains <br />old shingles. <br />6. <br />Window screens are torn. <br />7. <br />All facets leak. <br />F. rater piping frcirn well from dining hall is above <br />ground. <br />9. Plumbing is not provided with vents. <br />10. Handicapped accessibility is not provided. <br />11. Handicapped faci lities are not provided in thv rc•strcont. <br />
