City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCI' <br />NO. <br />A RESOLUTION ORDERING AIIATY.MENOF <br />HAZARDOUS BUILDING ACTION AT BIG I5I.AND <br />VETERAN'S CAMP - BERG HAIL <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono is a municipal corporation <br />organized and existing ender the laws of the State of Minnesota; and <br />WHEREAS, State of Minnesota, Centenial Building, St. Paul, <br />Minnesota 55102, is the fee owner of record of property located at Big <br />Island Veteran's Camp, Orono, Minnesota, herein referred to as Big <br />Is'and Veteran's Camp, and legally described as follows: <br />I,ot 2 Unplatted 23-117-23 21 0001 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orono, having duly <br />considered the matter pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Sections 463.15 <br />to 463.261, here)-y finds that the above described Berg Hall is <br />unhabitable and ._atains unsanitary and hazardous conditions which <br />constitute a public nuisance and which makes this property hazardous <br />to the public health, safety and welfare based on the following <br />findings: <br />1. Electrical wiring is in a state of disrepair and is a <br />potential fire hazard. <br />2. Roof leaks. <br />3. Building has been vandalized. <br />J. All windows are broken. <br />S. Foundation on south end of building has cracked and sunk. <br />6. Doors missing from rooms inside building. <br />7. All window sills are rotten. <br />8. Door to main entrance has been destroyed. <br />9. Stairs and randing for second floor door is missing. <br />10. Exterior wally have cracked (masonry). <br />11. Plumbing is in a state of disrepair. <br />12. Nuilding is used for storage of combustible materials <br />which cr-ates a fire hazard. <br />Page I of 2 <br />
