_-comulting_Planners __One Groyeland-Terrace (612)a77 3536 <br />Minneapolis_ <br />- ---- -- — -. - -Minnesota 55403-.. - ---- <br />Dahigren, Shardlow, and Uban; I ncorporated <br />28 June 1985 <br />Honorable Mayor, City Council Members <br />City of Orono <br />1335 Brown Road South <br />Orono, Minnesota 55323 <br />CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL PLANNING SERVICES <br />AGREEMENT entered into today by and between the CITY Oc u:;ONO, <br />hereinafter sometimes called CITY, and DAHLGREN, SHARDLOW, AND <br />UBAN, INC., hereinafter sometimes called CONSULTANT, relating <br />to the employment of the CONSULTANT as follows: <br />OBJECTIVE OF SERVICES <br />The objective of the CONSULTANT'S services will be to assist <br />the CITY in the process of reevaluating its Comprehensive Plan, <br />Zoning Ordinance, and other official controls, as they relate <br />to the development of the Highway 12 corridor. The Study Area <br />has been approximately determined, through consultation with <br />the City staff, and is illustrated on the attached figure. <br />In facilitating the study, the CONSULTANT shall prepare a <br />series of alternative development patterns and scenarios, <br />including a critical evaluation of the problems and <br />opportunities associated with the potential of providing public <br />sanitary sewer to all, or a portion of the Study Area. The <br />purpose of this effort will be to provide the CITY with the <br />information which it will need to make these important <br />decisions. <br />Once the Study has been completed and tale preferred <br />alternatives have been selected, the CONSULTANT shall assist <br />the CITY in modifying its Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Ordinance, <br />and other official controls to implement the plan. The purpose <br />of this portion of the work will be to insure that the CITY'S <br />official controls are specifically designed to accomplish its <br />goals and objectives for this area. <br />
