<br />8.10 TESTS AND INSPECTIONS
<br />8.10.1 Contractor shall Rive Engineer timely notice of readiness of the Work
<br />rfor all required inspections, tests or approval4.
<br />8.10.2 If any law, ordinance, rule, regulation, code, or order of any public
<br />body having jurisdiction requires any Work (or part thereof) to specifically
<br />be inspected, tested, or approved, Contractor shall assume full responsibility
<br />therefor, pav all costs in connection therewith and furnish Engineer the re-
<br />quired certificates of inspection, testing or approval. Contractor shall also
<br />be responsible for and shall pay all costs in connection with any inspection
<br />or testing required in connection with Owner's or Engineer's acceptance of a
<br />manufacturer, fabricator, supplier or distributor of materials or equipment
<br />proposed to be incorporated in the Work, or of materials or equipment submit-
<br />ted for approval prior to Contractor's purchase thereof for incorporation in
<br />1. the Work. The cost of all other inspections, tests and approvals required by
<br />the Contract Documents shall be paid by Owner (rinl.ess otherwise specified).
<br />8.10.3 All inspections, tests or approvals other than those required by law,
<br />ordinance, rule, regulation, code or order of any public body having jurisdic-
<br />tion shall be performed by organizations selected by or acceptable to Owner or
<br />Engineer.
<br />8.10.4 If any Work that is to be inspected, tested or approved is covered
<br />without written concurrence of Engineer, it must, if requested by Engineer, be
<br />uncovered for observation. Such uncovering shall be at Contractor's expense
<br />unless Contractor has given Engineer timely notice of Contractor's intention
<br />p1 to cover such Work and Engineer has not acted with reasonable promptness in
<br />response to such notice.
<br />Ft. 10.5 Neither observations by Engineer nor inspections, tests or approvals
<br />by others shall relieve Contractor from his oblizations to perform the Work in
<br />4'• accordance with the Contract Documents.
<br />8.11 UNCOVERING WORK
<br />If any Work is covered contrary to the written request of Engineer, it must,
<br />r, if requested by Engineer, be uncovered for Engineer's observation and replaced
<br />at Contractor's expense. If Engineer considers it necessary or advisable that

<br />covered Work be visually examined by Engineer or inspected or tested by
<br />others, Contractor, at Engineer's request, shall .incover, expose or otherwise
<br />f
<br />make available for observation, inspection or testing as Engineer may require,
<br />M that portion of. the Work in question, furnishing all necessary labor, material
<br />and equipment. If it is found that such Work is defective. Contractor shall
<br />1 bear all the expenses of such uncovering, exposure, observation, inspection
<br />p and testing and of satisfactory reconstruction, including compensation for
<br />additional profesPional servicpa, and an appropriate deductive Change Order
<br />shall he issued. If, howevor, such Work is not found to be defective, Cor-
<br />tractor shall be allowed an increase in the Contract Price or an extension of
