f;'i�.}ETtNG <br />`IUN 2.1 1985 <br />TO: Mayor and City Council 1 ,y <br />FROM: Mark Bernhardson, City Administrato I <br />DATE: June 17, 1985 <br />SUBJECT: Old Beach Road Traffic <br />On May 20, 1985, we received the attached request from Mr. Ronald <br />concerning truck traffic on Old Beach Road. Based on two traffic <br />surveys of speed and type of traffic at different times on week- <br />days together with engineering review of the condition of the <br />road, it is felt at this time that the amount of traffic does not <br />merit posting the road as off limits to trucks, as there does not <br />seem to be a heavy volume nor does there seem to be any <br />substantial degradation in the road surface because of this <br />limited traffic. <br />While this road can serve as a cut-off for gravel trucks <br />principally coming up from the south to go into Minnetonka Beach <br />it does not seem to be a substantial problem at this point. We <br />will however continue to monitor and at the point it appears to <br />become a problem, look first to enforcement of applicable load <br />limits and then possibly load or vehicle restrictions. If you <br />concur we will be happy to respond to the requestor. <br />
