The individual should live in the municipality they represent. <br />2. He or she should have demonstrated an interest in one or more of <br />the human service areas: <br />mental health medical/health care <br />mental retardation income assistance/maintenance <br />chemical dependency, job training/employment programs <br />child care child welfare services <br />refugee needs services for adolescents <br />services for the handi- services for the elderly <br />capped <br />domestic abuse services <br />3. The appointed member must be willing to: <br />attend board meetings once a month (usually held the first <br />Tuesday of the month, in the evening, and at a community <br />center in the West Suburban area.) <br />serve on one coinmittee of their choice. <br />report periodically to their city council about activities <br />of the West Hennepin Human Service Planning Board. <br />4. The length of the appointment term is generally two years. <br />The West Hennepin Human Service Planning Board is a community <br />agency dedicated to identifying human service needs of residents in <br />West suburban Hennepin County. It advocates for the direct payment <br />of services when needed and from improved access to services by <br />residents in the area. The Board is composed of volunteer <br />representatives from member municipalities and agencies located <br />in the west suburbanâ–ş areas. <br />
