ART CENTER OF MINNESOTA/ 2240 NORMSHORE DRIVE, CRYSTAI BAN, MINNESOTA 55323ii6121 473-7361
Mr. Roger Janzig
Staff Engineer
Metropolitan Waste
350 Metro Square
7th and Robert
St. Paul, MN 55101
Dear Mr. Janzig:
Control Commission
May 17, 1985
COL.6 KFIL NIFETING
,!U!1 1010?5
CITY OF R94. 0
In accordance with our phone conversation the afternoon of
Monday, May 13, 1985 I am enclosing a sheet with figures
for the number of students attending the Art Center of
Minnesota on our heaviestday of classes, Tuesday, and the
time they spend at the Center. I also thought I would include
our lightest day which is Friday so you can see the difference.
You will note that on our heaviest day 35% of the people are
only here for one hour, 39% for two or less hours and 96%
for three hours or •ss. ' suggest that only a handful of
these people ever the facilities. Just 4% or 8 people
are here for more tt:atn three hours and this is the equivalent
to two families of -nur people each. In reality this would
be less than two families considering that no one takes showers,
baths, does laundry or stays overnight.
On our lightest day of classes 92" of the people are here for
three hours or less. Only 8% or 8 people are here for more than
three hours.
1 want to stress the uniqueness of the Art Center. It is not
comparable to an elementary school in water usage because:
1. The maximum time spent in classrooms is 3 hours
compared to 6+ hours in an elementary school. Our
use of the facilities would therefore be mimimal.
2. Our students are not required to stay for lunch as
are grades 1 through 4 in an elementary school.
If you have any questions regarding these figures please call
me at 473-3100 or at the Art Center, 473-7361. I would be
delighted meet with you and Jo Ellen Hurr at your convenience
to try to -.x ow unit figures. Our next meeting with the Council
of the Cic, of Orono is Tuesday, May 28th at 7:00 p.m.
Sincerely,
Marion C. Gray
Director, Art Cent Bo d
