Resolution No. 987 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ORONO <br />AUTHORIZING TAKING OF LAND BY <br />EMINENT DOMAIN FOR PUBLIC RIGHT-OF- <br />WAY FOR THE RING ROUTE PROJECT 79-1 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Orono has <br />ordered the preparation of a resolution authorizing taking of <br />land by eminent domain and the City Engineer has recommended <br />the acquisition of land for public right-of-way purposes at <br />the locations hereinafter specified, and <br />WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of <br />Orono that it is necessary that the city acquire such lands <br />for a public purpose, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of <br />the City of Orono: <br />1. That it is hereby determined that the taking of <br />each of the tracts and parcels of land set forth in paragraph <br />3 hereof is necessary for the public good in order that said <br />tracks and parcels shall be devoted to public right-of-way. <br />• 2. That the city shall take by right of eminent domain <br />for public right-of-way purposes the lands described in para- <br />graph 3 hereof, and the City Attorney be hereby authorized and <br />directed to commence proceedings in the District Court of <br />Hennepin County for appointment of commissioners to determine <br />the damages, if any, sustained by the respective owners of the <br />parcels affected by such taking, as authorized by law. <br />3. That the lands above referred to are more particu- <br />larly described as per Exhibit A attached. <br />This resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City of <br />Orono on January 23 1979, by a vote of 4 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br />William B.
