Late spring to early summer: Identify/confirm garlic mustard presence in wetland, <br />wetland buffer, woodland/forest areas "control areas". Mow/cut all areas covered with <br />garlic mustard. A void compacting soils through weed whacking where possible. <br />2. Late fall: When native plants are dormant, and garlic mustard seed pod are not yet <br />mature, chemically treat identified areas with glyphosate or Rodeo. Avoid compacting <br />soils through hand-held or backpack sprayers where possible. <br />Phase 2 -Extended Maintenance <br />1. Early spring and late fall of following year, identify new garlic mu stard within control <br />areas. Spot-treat with glyphosate or Rodeo . <br />2. Continue as de scribed above for the life of the project which ends two (2) years after the <br />completion of construction. <br />GARLIC MUSTARD CONTROL METHODS <br />1. The fo llowing methods are approved methods of removal and control. Any de v iation <br />from these methods needs to be approved by the owner's representative prior to their u se. <br />Broadleaf chemical treatment <br />1. Chemical spray shall be applied between the months of March through April and mid- <br />September through October when native species are generally dormant. <br />2. Spray to wet all foliage. <br />3. Use hand-held or backpack sprayers with ultra-low volume no zzles to minimize contact <br />with desirable existing plants . <br />4.
