THE AREA SOUTH OF COUNTY ROAD 51. <br />A. THEME: "ESTATE GARDENS OF LAKE MINNETONKA" <br />1. Whir Estate Gardens? <br />In discussing themes for the garden, the Committee wzs guided by <br />two objectives. First the Committee felt that it was important to <br />provide a garden that would not duplicate the efforts of other <br />gardens it the metropolitan area. In addition, the Committee saw <br />the park as an area that should provide an educational as well as <br />recreational experience for those who visited. In considering <br />these goals, the Committee came up with a variety of possibile <br />themes, including the following: <br />o Victorian <br />o Old English <br />o Winter garden <br />o Minnesota Native Plants <br />o Estate Garden <br />Of these themes, the Estate Garden theme generated majority support <br />from the committee. Advantages of the Estate Garden theme include: <br />o It will not duplicate the efforts of other gardens in the <br />Metropolitan area. <br />
