J <br />• <br />Resolution No. 909 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONCURRENT DETACHMENT <br />FROM THE CITY OF INDEPENDENCE AND ANNEXATION <br />INTO THE CITY OF ORONO OF A CERTAIN STRIP OF LAND <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Orono as follows: <br />1. The following described property is presently <br />located within the City of Independence and abuts upon the <br />City of Orono. <br />2. The City of Orono approves the concurrent <br />detachment of the following described property from the City <br />of Independence and its subsequent annexation to the City of <br />Orono and requests that the Minnesota Municipal Board approves <br />of the concurrent detachment and annexation as soon as possible. <br />3. The property which is subject to this concurrent <br />detachment and annexation is legally described as follows: <br />That part of the Southeast corner of Section 36, Township 118, <br />Range 24, Hennepin County, Minnesota described as follows: <br />Commencing at the Southeast corner of said section, thence <br />• westerly along the South boundary of said section 50 feet, <br />thence northerly on a line parallel to the easterly boundary <br />of said section a distance of 1,170 feet, thence easterly on a <br />line parallel to the southerly boundary of said section a dis- <br />tance of 50 feet, thence along the easterly boundary of said <br />section 1,170 more or less to the point of beginning, and <br />there terminating and as is shown on Exhibit A attached hereto. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper city officers <br />are hereby authorized to execute any and all other agreements <br />which are necessary in order to effect the concurrent detach- <br />ment and annexation of the above described property. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono <br />on June 15 , 1978. <br />Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />City Cler <br />0 <br />
