Improvements to public spaces, such as North Arm, <br />should prioritize community use and recreational enjoyment. The current plan encourages <br />the expansion of commercial and industrial use for this recreational access, which is <br />located among residential neighborhoods. <br />Summary of Requests <br />We respectfully urge the committee to: <br />• Remove the vertical access point and direct commercial and industrial operators to <br />appropriate launch and load pickup areas. <br />• Preserve or replace the existing tree and shrub buffer as it currently exists. <br />• Limit infrastructure expansion to maintain the site's recreational focus, including <br />reducing lighting and additional dockage. <br />Retain trash bins and enforce proper waste disposal. <br />• Uphold existing city and county policies to protect and support recreational use of <br />this public asset and the livability of surrounding neighborhoods. <br />We hope the North Arm access redesign will prioritize recreational use and neighborhood <br />integrity over commercial and industrial interests.
