Improvements to public spaces, such as North Arm, should prioritize
community use and recreational enjoyment. The current plan encourages the expansion of commercial
and industrial use for this recreational access, which is located among residential neighborhoods.
Summary of Requests
We respectfully urge the committee to:
• Remove the vertical access point and direct commercial and industrial operators to appropriate
launch and load pickup areas.
• Preserve or replace the existing tree and shrub buffer as it currently exists.
• Limit infrastructure expansion to maintain the site's recreational focus, including reducing lighting
and additional dockage.
• Retain trash bins and enforce proper waste disposal.
• Uphold existing city and county policies to protect and support recreational use of this public asset
and the livability of surrounding neighborhoods.
We hope the North Arm access redesign will prioritize recreational use and neighborhood integrity over
commercial and industrial interests. Thank you for your consideration.
Please see the attached pdf with included signatures of neighbors surrounding the North Arm access.
Sincerely,
159
