MINUTES OF THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING HELD JANUARY 28, 1985 PAGE: <br />Robert Kost stated I built a house a couple of years <br />ago in Navarre. At that time I was exposed to the <br />City's Zoning Ordinance and Comprehensive Land Use <br />Plan. I am a landscape architect and have been <br />before Planning Commissions and Councils. Would like <br />to offer my services to the City in helping the City <br />maintain its quality of life. <br />Councilmember T. Adams asked Kost if he would be <br />interested in a position on the Park Commission. Mr. <br />Kost said he would be interested. <br />Mayor Butler asked that the two persons interested in <br />the Park Commission say a faw words. <br />Philip Bradley stated, I have worked with park <br />activities since the late 60's. I am a member of the <br />Scott Hennepin Park Reserve District which is a joint <br />powers agreement between Hennepin and Scott Counties. <br />I am an appointee of the Hennepin County Park Reserve <br />District serving on the Board with Scott County. <br />Mariann Kienzler stated, I have lived in the Orono <br />area for about three years. I work for the University <br />Minnesota in the Forestry Department where I do <br />forestry research. I would also be willing to <br />volunteer for other commissions. <br />Mayor Butler stated that the Planning Commission must <br />be composed of two members that reside in the rural <br />service area as described in the Comprehensive <br />Community Plan, two members shall reside in the urban <br />service area of the City, and three members shall be <br />appointed to respresent the City at large. The <br />one vacant seat should be from for rural service <br />area. <br />Councilmember T. Adams moved, Councilember L. Adams <br />seconded to appoint Paul Taylor to the unexpired term <br />of Lynn Adams whose term expires December 31, 1985. <br />Motion, Ayes (4), Nays (1). Grabek nay. <br />Councilmember Grabek <br />moved, Councilmember <br />L. Adams <br />seconded to <br />appoint <br />Mariann <br />Kienzler to <br />the Park <br />Commission. <br />Motion, <br />Ayes (5), <br />Nays (0). <br />Councilmember Frahm <br />moved, Councilmember <br />T. Adams <br />seconded to <br />appoint <br />Philip <br />Bradley to <br />the Park <br />Commission. <br />Motion, Ayes t5), <br />Nays (0). <br />Councilmember Frahm moved, Mayor Butler seconded to <br />direct staff to change the membership of the Park <br />
