V, <br />24,000.2.C. REINFORCFD C_ON(7RF,TF SEWER PIPE: The sewer pipe shall conform to <br />the requirements of the Standard Specifications for Reinforced Concrete Sewer <br />Pipe, A.S.T.M. Designation C-76 of the class designated on the plans and in <br />the Proposal. <br />24,000.2.D. CORRUCATF.D METAL PIPE: Corrugated metal pipe shall conform to <br />the Standard Specifications for Corrugated Metal Pipe Culvert of the A.A.S.H.O. <br />Specification M-16 with exceptions and additions as noted in Minnesota Depart- <br />ment of Transportation Specification 3226. The kind of base metal and gauge <br />is stated in the "Specific Requirements". If any special coating is required, <br />it will be stated in the "Specific Requirements". <br />24,000.2.E. DUCTILE IRON PIPE: Ductile iron pipe shall conform with the re- <br />quirements of AWWA Standard C151 of the class and type stated in the "Specific <br />Requirements". All ductile iron pipe shall have mechanical or push -on type <br />joints and shall have a standard thickness cement mortar lining in accordance <br />with AWWA Standard C104. <br />Where ductile iron pipe is used as a pressure line receiving discharge from a <br />pumping station, all joints shall be electrically conductive by use of copper <br />straps or approved conductive gaskets with copper inserts. <br />24,000.2.F. CAST IRON FITTINGS: Where ductile iron pipe is furnished, fit- <br />tings shall be mechanical joint in accordance with AWWA Standard C110. All <br />fittings shall be designed for 150 psi working pressure. All fittings shall <br />have a stands 1 thickness of cement mortar lining in accordance with AWWA <br />Standard C104. Ductile iron fittings in accordance with AWWA Standard C-153 <br />are considered equal. <br />24,000.2.G. JOINTS AND JOINT MATERIALS: <br />24,000.2.G1. Clay Pipe: Clay pipe joints. shall be rubber or plastic type <br />compression joints in accordance with A.S.T.M. Spec. C-425. Plain -end vitri- <br />fied clay pipe may be used which employ Type B compression couplings in accor- <br />dance with ASTM Specification C594. <br />24,000.2.C2. Polvvinvl Chloride Pipe: Polvvinyl chloride pipe joints shall <br />be bell and spigot type with solvent cement applied in accordance with the <br />manufacturer's recommendations. Casketed push -on type joints are considered <br />equal. <br />24,000.2.G3. Concrete Pipe: Reinforced concrete pipe joints shall meet the <br />requirements of ASTM Specification C-361 and shall be the Bureau of Reclama- <br />tion Type R-4. Deformed concrete pipe shall he jointed with material similar <br />to Ram-Nek, Hamilton Kent, Kent Seal No. 2 or equal gasket material applied in <br />Accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. <br />24,000.2.G4. Ductile Iron Pipe: Gaskets for mechanical joint and push -on <br />joint pipe shall be designated and manufactured to exact dimensions to assure <br />a liquid tight joint. All joints for pipe used as a pressure line shall be <br />installed with an electric contact through every joint.
