INTEROFFICE MEMO P5-011 <br />DATE: January 11, 1985 <br />TO: Mayor Butler - City Council <br />FROM: Chief Mel Kilbo <br />SUBJECT: Raffle License request - Orono Hockey Boosters <br />I have riviewed the application and the ordinance. I had <br />three questions which I referrred to the City Attorney. <br />The City Attorney asked me to question two points, one, are <br />the applicants an "eligible organization" and two, do they <br />"lease or own the premises". <br />A letter requesting answers was sent to Richard Raiche. He <br />came to the office on 1-10-85 and stated he could answer both <br />questions in the affirmative. See letter attached. <br />I recommend issuance. <br />It should be noted that effective March 1, 1985, the charitable <br />gambling control board takes over all issuance of gambling <br />licenses and all licenses issued by local units of government <br />expire 2-28-85. <br />
