Gerhardson, Public Works Coordinator <br />Date: January 10, 1985 <br />Subject: Lake Access Improvement - Spates Avenue <br />Currently the City of Orono provides a lake access onto <br />Smiths Bay adjacent to Sailors World (Paul's Landing) off <br />Shoreline Drive (County Road 15). At the present time the access <br />has an incline from the lakeshore to Shoreline Drive to an extent <br />that vehicles driving off the lake cannot stop for traffic on <br />Shoreline Drive creating a safety hazard. <br />It is my recommendation to develop a grade change during the <br />summer/fall 1985 to correct this situation. <br />
