Memo a85-01 <br />page 1 of <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />TO: City Council / <br />FROM: Tom Kuehn, Financ•e Director <br />Lorraine MCGowaii, Liquor store Manager CITY OF ORONO <br />DATE: January 3, 1985 <br />SUBJECT: Monthly Liquor Store Operating Report - November 1984 <br />Attached is the monthly report for the November liquor store <br />operations for 1982, 1983 and 1984. Sales for the major <br />categories of liquor, wine and beer are shown. Each category is <br />divided by the number of sales to arrive at an average sale <br />price. The total monthly sales includes the mix and <br />miscellaneous sales as well as liquor, beer, and wine sales. The <br />total sales ;net of discounts) is di by the total customer <br />count for the month to show an average sale per customer. <br />To arrive at an estimated gcoss profit and net profit per month <br />we have t-tken a five year average percentage for the fourth <br />quarter of 1979 through 1983 and applied this to November of the <br />current tluarter. The actual percentages are used for the prior <br />two years. <br />The attached monthly report ref le( -Ls 1983 as t'.ie high sales year <br />overall. Net sales for November 1984 are down $2,252 (6.9%) from <br />1983, and clown $1,77.1 (5.5%) from 1982. <br />
