Development of Noerenberg Memorial Part: <br />Dear Mr. Van Nest: <br />The following statement briefly summarizes the position of <br />the signatories regarding the proposal by the Hennepin County <br />Park Reserve District to develop the Noerenberg Memorial Park. <br />The signatories basically represent only those nearby residents <br />who have become aware of the project. <br />We oppose the proposed development for the following reasons: <br />I. Inconsistent with the terms and intent of the Will of <br />Lora N. oppe. <br />A. Property on the north side of County Road 51 shall <br />"be operated and managed in its approximate natural <br />state as a place whereon wild fowl and other wild <br />game will be allowed to congregate on this land as <br />a natural area." <br />Operation and maintenance of this land by either <br />the Minnesota Chapter of the Nature Conservancy, <br />Inc., the Hennepin County Park Reserve District, <br />or if the bequest is unacceptable to either of the <br />u ;eve a charitable corporation as specified in thK,ty. <br />must be "upon the same terms and for the *%bf6 A,-', <br />purposes as set forth hereinabove." <br />B. Property on the south side of County Road 51 "shall <br />be operated and devoted to public park purposes as <br />an aboretum for flowers, shrubs and trees, with <br />suitable pathways and decorative features." Expressly <br />forbidden are uses of the land "for picnic purposes, <br />for camping, for boat or water craft launching, or <br />for any uses incompatible with that of a general <br />display garden area." <br />
