City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING A VARIANCE TO <br />MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE SECTION 10.28, SUBDIVISION 5(B) <br />AND SECTION 10.03 SUBDIVISION 9(D) - FILE 1862 <br />WHEREAS, William S. Bowman (hereinafter "the applicant") is <br />owner of the property located at 10 Willow Drive South within the City <br />of Orono (hereinafter "City") and legally described as follows: <br />Lot 1, Block 1, Kelley and Kelley Division (hereafter <br />"property"), and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant has applied to the City for a variance <br />to Municipal Zoning Code Section 10.28, Subdivisions 5(B) to permit <br />the construction of a detached garage 27.8 feet from the side street <br />where a 50 foot side street setback is required, and a variance to <br />Section 10.03, Subdivision 9(D) to allow a detached garage to be <br />constructed nearer the front lot line than the principal building. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />Minnesota: <br />FINDINGS <br />1. This application was reviewed as zoning file #862. <br />2. The property is located in the RR-113 Single Family Rural <br />Residential Zoning District. <br />3. The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this app]ication <br />on September 17, 1984, and recommended approval of the <br />proposed variance based upon the following findings: <br />a) The proposed garage location will make efficient use <br />of the existing driveway and apron. <br />b) The proposed location will eliminate the need to <br />remove a number of mature trees on the site. <br />
