Memo #84-57 <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />OCT ) 5 I984 <br />TO: City Council <br />CITY OF ORONO <br />FROM: Tom Kuehn, Finance Director <br />FROM: October 9, 1984 <br />SUBJECT: ordinance Amending Council Salaries <br />Attached is an ordinance amending City Code, Section 2.17, as prepared <br />by Municipal Ordinance Cndifiers, Inc. The purpose of the amendment <br />is to adjust the Mayor's monthly salary from $262.68 to $275.90 and each <br />Councilmember'a monthly salary from $210.35 to $220.00. The changes <br />will be effective January 1, 1985. Lender Minnesota law the salaries <br />of the mayor and cuunei 1 may be changed by ordinance at any time, but the <br />change does not take effect until after the neat municipal election. <br />Thus the salaries are set for at least two years. The ordinance must <br />also be published before the election (November 6, 1984). <br />
