For 1984 the total department requests for cap tal outlay are $61JOIS. <br />The breakdown by department follows: <br />ADMINISTRATION - Capital outlay is requested for repli-o m.mt of the <br />administration aitomob,le, net of auctioned 1980 Fot;l Fairmont, <br />$e,eee. <br />FIVAleCR - Capital outlay is requested for replacement of two <br />calculators $330. <br />AOKI"ISTRATION/VIRANCE -Capital outlay is requested for the purchase <br />Of ens N►lee wisto-computer for word processing and finance use@. we <br />are projecting purchase of the micrc-computer only as we have one M�15e <br />with a printer. The cost is es_imated to be S2,995 less the existing <br />MP125 word p:oceesor to be transfered to the police department fur <br />$2,S95, for a not cost of $4e0. <br />GOVItROMErIT IWILDtNGS - Capital outlay requests include $3,906 to <br />purchase phones for the administrative building, the public works <br />building and the council ChAmbers; central air condttion ing for the <br />council chambers, $2,802; administration building electrical <br />upgrade, SS75; front entryway addition, $4,9ee; partially ram -,del <br />upstat a bsthtoom, $lee; and two dehumidiftets, 91ee. <br />CIVILDRr=JR-Captiai outlay is requested for A siren to be locatedat <br />the water plant site in Navarre, $6,509. <br />,# <br />4 <br />STREETS - Capital outlay requests include a dump truck to replace the <br />1971 Dodge, $25,eee; a quick hitch coupler for the 198e Chevrolet dump <br />truck, $4,119; a hydraulic sander, S2,:29; addition of hydraulics to <br />the 075 International dump truck, $2,299; Lwo chain saws, $bee; and a <br />band saw, $7ee. <br />PARRS - Capital outlay request is $8e8 for t.o lawn mowers. <br />DEBT RETIREMENT eUNDS - The various debt requirements of the city are <br />predetermined at the time each bond issue is approved. The sources to <br />be used In rotiring the debt issues are alas determined In advance of <br />the sale of bonds. The city has four improvement bond issues with <br />outstanding debt and a State Aid Road Bond Debt Fund. The various <br />improvement debt issues are bonded mostly by sperlal assessments <br />levied Against the benefited propertics,..Ithough there are tax lev;es <br />to pay any halance not covered by s, real assessments. The State Aid <br />Road Bonds were issued to aid in the co,.struction of McCul le•• Road and <br />the city has pledged part of ti,z annual municipal aid fr,)m the state +f <br />Minnesota to pay the bonds and interest due each year. Tne final <br />payment on the road bonds will be made in 1968. <br />In June, 1984 the city', auditors p•r!ormed a cash flow projection and <br />analysis of the improvement bond issues supported by special <br />assessments. Asa resuli of this analysis it has been determined that <br />we do not need to levy ad valorem taxes fur bonded debt. we will <br />therefore cancell $46,eee of taxes whi h would have been collectible <br />hk <br />
