City of Orono Sustainability Communications Plan <br />Timeframe: November 2025 — October 2026 <br />Goal: Promote awareness, education, and participation in sustainability efforts through timely, <br />seasonal messaging and community engagement. Coordinate consistent communication that <br />supports city sustainability and resiliency initiatives, aligns with the comp plan, and engages <br />residents, staff, and partners. <br />Key Objectives <br />1. Promote Engagement- Encourage small, practical steps residents can take year-round. <br />2. Build Awareness- Educate the community on local environmental initiatives (pollinator <br />habitats, native plantings, stormwater management). <br />3. Document Progress- Strengthen Orono's brand as a clean, green, and community - <br />minded city. <br />4.
