Minutes of HRA Advisory Committee Meeting 9/12/84 page 2 <br />Housing Guide Revisions <br />Reeves and Barron presented the first sections of the revised Housing Guide <br />Chapter. A public hearing on the Guide Chapter is schedulc.1 for late Nov- <br />em be r . <br />Barron took the committee through the sub -sections relating to Housing Afford- <br />ability, For -Sale Housing, Rental Housing, Reducing Housing Costs, Manufactured <br />Housing, Public Services for Housing, and The Costs of Delay. <br />Burton suggested that sufficient housing is available --the problem is <br />accessibility. The Policy Statement for "Housing Affordability" has yet to be <br />written Members suggested it contain wording that what is needed is <br />affcrdab�lity, not necessarily more new housing. Cohen empnasized the need for <br />modest -cost housing. <br />Members suggested editorial change: to avoid a negative connotation of manu- <br />factured housing. Staff also was direct d to change the phrase "condominium <br />mobile home parks" to "residential sulbd ✓ision." <br />Another change suggested by members was inclusion of soft charges in the Policy <br />relating to Public Services for Housing. <br />The committee agreed to meet again on September 26 and October 10. <br />The meeting adjourned at 1:00 p.m. <br />HMHRA/JF025A <br />
