MINUTES OF THE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING HELD AUGUST 27, 1984. PAGE 15 <br />TAX INCREMENT iINANCING City Administrator Benson stated that. the Navarre <br />Retail Association's meeting will be held on September <br />11, 1984, and that it wo ld be a go-d timr� Lo di sc;uss tax <br />increment financing with the business people. <br />One woman stated that another problem that thr: City <br />will run into is that there :s a lot of renters in the <br />Navarre area. <br />ORONO ASSESSOR - <br />ROLF ERICKSON Rolf Ericksor was present. <br />Mayor Butler asked Erickson how he would divide up the <br />field work. <br />Erickson stated that he would do most of the f ield work <br />and that he would have to hire an assistant to do data <br />entry, homesteads and abatements. Erickson stated <br />that he would take care of the calls, court cases, and <br />much of the appraising. <br />Councilmember Grabek asked if Erickson would re able <br />to use Hennepin County's records or data. <br />Erickson stated that he might be able to use some of <br />their records. <br />Councilmember Frahm stated that the City needs a good <br />public relations factor. <br />Mayor Butler stated that she expected Erickson to <br />acquire a Comprehensive Plan and a Zoning Code and to <br />take into account individual properties. Butler <br />stated that as an example if a piece of property is all <br />wetlands that it shouldn't be assessed as a buildable <br />lot. <br />Councilmember Grabek moved, Councilmember Frahm <br />seconded, to hire Rolf Erickson as the Orono Assessor <br />subject to staff review of the agreement.
