The new law, which governs all tax increment financing undertaken after August 1, 1979, combined the numerous tax increment financing statutes into one comprehen- sive statute. The Act, which also contains several technical improvements, has removed a considerable amount of the inconsistency which once surrounded tax increment financing. The intent of this report is basically threefold: first, to present a current and useful report on tax increment financing; secondly, to impress upon you the opportunities which exist with tax increment financing; and, thirdly, to offer an opportunity for you to discuss with us any questions or plans you may have.
