..R <br />04200. MASONRY <br />�- Specific and General Requirements <br />04200.1. DESCRIPTION: The work included in this section of the specification <br />entails all masonry work to complete the building as required on the plans and <br />specifications. <br />04200.2. QUALITY ASSURANCE: Use adequate numbers of skilled workmen who are <br />thoroughly trained and experienced in the necessary crafts and who are <br />completely familiar with the specified requirements and the methods needed for <br />proper performance of the work of this Section. <br />Comply with all pertinent codes or regulations including the following: <br />1) Uniform Building Code <br />2) National Concrete Masonry Association <br />04200.3. SUBMITTALS: Submit samples of each proposed masonry unit to the <br />Engineer for approval as follows: <br />04200.3.1. Concrete Masonry: Provide manufacturer's specifications of the <br />proposed concrete masonry units for the project. <br />04200.3.2. Test Reports: <br />1. Test reports for each type of building and facing block are to be <br />submitted to the Engineer for approval. <br />2. Testing and reports are to be completed by an independent laboratory. <br />Prior to delivery of masonry materials to the job site, deliver to the Engi- <br />neer a letter from the manufacturer of the proposed masonry units certifying <br />that all such units to be delivered to the jot, site are in strict conformance <br />with the provisions of this Section. <br />04200.3. PRODUCT HANDLING: Use all means necessary to protect the materia. <br />of this Section before, during and after installation and to protect the work <br />and materials of all other trades. <br />In the event of damage, immediately make all repairs and replacements neces- <br />sary to the approval cf the Engineer and at no additional cost to the Owner. <br />04200.4. MATERIALS: <br />04200.4.1. General: All materials shall conform to the following A.S.T.M. <br />Specifications: <br />Sand - C144, clean, natural sharp sand <br />Portland Cement - C150, Type I, II or III <br />Quick Lime C5 <br />Hydrated Lime - C207, Type S <br />Ins Concrete Block - C90 Grade N. Type I, hollow load bearing, normal weight <br />Clay Brick - C216 Grade SW <br />Grout - C476 Coarse Grout <br />is <br />04200-1 <br />6 0-9693b <br />
