Studies have shown that sediments, oils, and debris carried into the lake <br />from highly urbanised areas have a detrimental impact on the quality of water in the <br />lake. The intent of Orono's ordinance is to ensure that rainfall run-off will be <br />cleansed by filtering through grassed or vegetated yard areas before entering the <br />lake. <br />S.
